BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University volleyball team took some time off from spring practice and studying earlier this week to visit the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI) and play with some of the children.
The Hoosiers spent Tuesday afternoon playing board games, video games and air hockey with the kids. Other activities included drawing with crayons and playing with a toy train set while feeding on snacks for the children.
MPRI is located locally in Bloomington and is a state-of-the-art facility that offers high quality proton cancer treatment. The MPRI mission is to "cure patients with both benign and malignant disease through the use of proton radiation solely or in combination with other treatment options. Also, research and develop improved particle radiation therapy equipment, treatments, processes and protocols for use at MPRI, and to enhance the field of proton therapy worldwide."
