BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Throughout the 2009 Indiana water polo season, members of the team will be keeping a journal of their travels for IUHoosiers.com. Freshman Cassie Wyckoff wrote about the team's trip to Ann Arbor, Mich. for a weekend of CWPA Western Division action.

This afternoon we arrived at the soccer stadium to travel five hours on a bus to Ann Arbor, Michigan. It seems like we just got done traveling after arriving back on campus from a trip to San Francisco that was marred by delays and cancellation of our flights. We put a movie in for those that wanted to watch it while the rest of us tried to take a nap after a busy Friday morning.
We stopped in Fort Wayne to eat and had a couple of places to choose from before boarding the bus and continuing on our way. Dana and I had a struggle getting into our room, but we managed to figure it out. Not too long after, both of us conked out while watching stand-up comedians on Comedy Central.

After our long bus ride yesterday, it was a little more challenging to get up this morning but it's gameday so that makes it a lot easier. Our first game was at 10:30 a.m. so we woke up at 8:00 a.m. and went to breakfast and then got on the bus to head to the pool at 9:00 a.m. We played very well and defeated Washington and Jefferson by a score of 14-1.
After the game all the girls went grocery shopping at Trader Joe's and then made our way back to the pool at 12:30 to get ready for our next game against Chatham. This is the first varsity water polo game that this college team has ever played in their history. We were able to take advantage of that and came away with a 15-2 win. We came back to the hotel to rest for a little over an hour. Our last game was at 6:00 pm against Grove City which was a good 15-2 win. After the game, the team went downtown to eat dinner. I went to a Greek restaurant with about ten others, and after that we got ice cream at a candy store. We then took a short rainy bus ride back to the hotel. Now I'm in my room with Dana watching MTV and and not looking forward having three tests on Tuesday.

We woke up this morning for breakfast at the hotel, and then headed to the pool for our last game of the weekend, against Penn State Behrend. This game went pretty much like the other three, and we played well and won 14-0. After the game, we made a lunch stop on our way back to Bloomington. Some of the team went to Subway, and the others went to Panera. Next, we had the bus ride home and we decided to watch 27 Dresses. We got back to Bloomington at about 5 p.m. and now we are getting ready for the long week of school ahead, followed by our trip out West next weekend for the start of our Spring Break trip.
Go Hoosiers!
