Erdy Named Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - True freshman David Erdy is the Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week, announced the conference office on Wednesday. It marks the second weekly accolade for IU this season as Jorge Campillo received the honor for the week of Feb. 18.

At the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship, an event which is comprised of the best teams in the country, Erdy picked up top medalists honors during the match play qualifier, firing off rounds of 72 and 65 to go seven under par. The freshman's play gave Indiana the No. 1 seed entering match play where the Hoosiers claimed runner-up honors. Erdy went 2-1 during match play, guiding his squad to the prestigious final round. The Boonville, Ind., native has been in the line-up in each event this season.
