Eric Arnett pitched a brilliant complete game, matching a career high with 10 strikeouts, to lead Indiana to a 3-2 victory over No. 25 Minnesota (14-7, 1-1 Big Ten) on Saturday. Arnett allowed just two hits over his final six innings of work and struck out a pair of hitters in both the eighth and ninth, including the final batter of the game, to finish off the victory. Alex Dickerson hit an opposite-field, two-run homer in the sixth to give the Hoosiers (8-15, 1-1) the win.
In the opener, Derek McCallum had three hits and scored twice for Minnesota, while A.J. Pettersen had two hits and scored three times in the Golden Gophers' 12-5 win over Indiana on Friday. Jake Dunning had a pair of hits and drove in two runs in the loss.
Indiana has a pair of midweek, non-conference matchups on tap. The Hoosiers will play host to Chicago State on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Sembower Field before traveling to Cincinnati to play the Bearcats on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. GameTracker and Live Audio will be available for both games on IUHoosiers.com
