Women's Tennis Opens Big Ten Slate Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Women's Tennis hit the road for their Big Ten opener this weekend, heading to Illinois for a Saturday match set for a 1 p.m. EST start. The Hoosiers are coming off a 4-3 win over #23 Wake Forest last weekend.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Fighting Illini (8-2) are ranked #33 nationally and are winners of their last six matches. Illinois' two losses both came against top-25 teams in #11 Stanford and #22 Tennessee.

BIG TEN DOING BIG THINGS
This season, five Big Ten schools are currently ranked in the nation's top-50, including both IU and Illinois. The Hoosiers are slotted #44 and Illinois is ranked 33rd. Meanwhile, the conference owns the top-ranked squad in #1 Northwestern, in addition to, #18 Michigan and #37 Ohio State.

A LOOK BACK
Indiana went 8-2 during the Big Ten regular season a year ago before advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
