BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - More than 60 Indiana student-athletes celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday by participating in Read Across America at nine local elementary schools in Bloomington on Monday, March 2.
The student-athletes read books and interacted with the students they visited throughout the day.
"All the athletes who came to our school were just wonderful," said Judy Williams from Childs Elementary. "They certainly are great role models for our children. They were all friendly, had a good sense of humor, and treated the children with respect."
"I just wanted to say that this was a great experience," said Ashley Hobbs, a senior pitcher for the Indiana softball team. "I had so much fun reading to the little kids!"
