BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana senior golfer Jorge Campillo has been named the Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week, announced the conference office on Wednesday. It marks the ninth such honor of Campillo's career.
Campillo picked up top individual honors as he led Indiana to a 27-stroke triumph at the adidas Hoosier Invitational this past weekend. The All-American posted a season-best three-round score of 203 for a 67.67 average, lowering his season average to 70.46, which stands as second-best all-time in IU annals. With the win, Campillo touts nine career tournament victories which moves him past former Hoosier and current PGA member Jeff Overton for most individual titles in school history. His ninth career Big Ten weekly award pulls him even with Overton for the most career accolades in conference history.
