Bloomington, Indiana - Three players shared the Outstanding Player Award as the 2008-09 Indiana University men's basketball team was honored today by the coaching staff at the first ever Fan Appreciation Tailgate prior to the spring football game.
Junior Devan Dumes, freshman Verdell Jones III and freshman Tom Pritchard shared the award.
"All three of the players were able to step to the forefront during the season," said head coach Tom Crean. "They will be looked at to continue their improvement and provide this program with the leadership and work ethic we will need to move forward."
Senior Kyle Taber received the customary framed jersey and ring ring that is provided to each graduating player and he also received the team's Landon Turner Most Inspirational Award and Leadership Award.
"We have a great deal of admiration for Kyle and what he means to everyone involved in the IU program," added Crean. "As time goes on, I think his contributions will be far more recognizable."
