Hoosiers Top Gannon, 12-7

ERIE, Pa. - The No. 19 Indiana women’s water polo team opened their Pennsylvania road trip with a CWPA Western Division victory over Gannon, 12-7, on Friday evening. The Hoosiers improve to 14-14 overall, with a 5-1 mark in the division.
Senior Maggie Hannon went on a scoring rampage against the Lady Knights, finishing with five goals, which ties a career-high. She also earned two kick-outs in the contest. The sophomore duo of Kara Butler and Nicole Redder each tallied two goals for the Hoosiers. Butler also earned an exclusion, as well as a five meter penalty, which she converted for one of her scores.
Sophomores Kelsey Campbell and Lauren Wyckoff each found the back of the cage for Indiana, as did freshman Jakie Köhli. The trio of Campbell, Wyckoff, and Köhli all dished out a pair of assists in the win.
Junior Katie Carson and freshman Cassie Wyckoff split duties at goalkeeper, with Carson getting the start, making eight saves and allowing four goals. Wyckoff finished with 10 saves and one steal, while giving up three Gannon scores.
The Hoosiers (14-14, 5-1 CWPA West) will wrap up divisional play on Saturday against Mercyhurst at 10:00 a.m. ET, followed by a game with George Washington at 7:30 p.m. ET. On Sunday, the Hoosiers will meet Bucknell at 11:00 a.m. ET to finish their regular season.
