Hoosiers Win Game One in Italy

SANTA MARINELLA, Italy - Amber Jackson scored 22 points and Whitney Thomas collected a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds as the Indiana women's basketball team defeated USD Santa Marinella, an Italian B professional league team, 87-39, in Santa Marinella, Italy, on Monday, May 18.

The Hoosiers dominated the entire game, which consisted of four 10-minute quarters and were played under FIBA rules. IU made a big run late in the first quarter and never looked back, holding Santa Marinella to just one field goal in the fourth quarter for the 87-39 win.

Jamie Braun scored 11 points and added nine rebounds and Jori Davis netted 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

In their next game, Indiana will face ASD Firenze Basket in San Marcello on Wednesday, May 20.
