Postgame Quotes Indiana Head Coach Tracy Smith
On the outcome of the game:
Justin Marks was tough tonight we knew that coming in. We just didn't hit the ball well tonight. He was throwing his breaking ball late in the count.
We just didn't play good defense tonight. We didn't deserve to win this game tonight and Louisville did. We made mistakes tonight we just don't normally make. Baseball is a game of controlled emotion and we didn't have that tonight.
On Vandy
We focus on what we do well. I'm not a big guy on the scouting thing. Things happen during games. We just do what we do.
By far this is the worst game we have played in a long time. It was an awesome environment tonight. I appreciate the fans coming out we just wish we would have played better.
On playing in front of a large crowd
I love playing in front of a lot of fans. I don't feel like we were nervous. We just didn't play defense.
On the offense:
We didn't swing it as well as we like. [Justin] Marks is a good pitcher, hopefully we can pick it back up and get the bats going tomorrow.
