Wilson Captures Long Jump State Title

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Incoming football freshman Duwyce Wilson captured the long jump title at the Indiana High School Athletic Association Boys Track and Field championship on Friday. Wilson claimed the victory with a jump of 22-10.5 at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington.
Wilson was a wide receiver for head coach Bob Gaddis. He earned Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) Top 50 All-State and Indiana AP Class 4A All-State honors. Wilson also claimed 2008 Indiana Mr. Football at wide receiver and garnered all-area and all-conference accolades.
He led Columbus East to semi-state, a 13-1 record and a conference title in 2008. The Columbus, Ind., native was rated the sixth-best prospect in the state of Indiana by Rivals.com and the 38th wide receiver nationally by Scout.com.
Wilson and the incoming freshmen report for preseason camp on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The Hoosiers kick off the 2009 campaign with its first-ever meeting against Eastern Kentucky at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. It marks the first Thursday game in Memorial Stadium's history.
