Hoosier Swimmers Compete at World University Games

BELGRADE, Serbia - Hoosier swimmers took to the pool on day one of competition at the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
Rising senior Kate Zubkova, who is competing for Ukraine, finished fourth in the first of two semifinal heats of the 50 butterfly, touching the wall in 27.03. In the second semifinal of the 100 backstroke, rising sophomore Eric Ress, swimming for France, took seventh with a time of 55.64.
Swimming competition at the World University Games continues through July 11. In addition to the Indiana athletes competing, head swimming coach Ray Looze is serving as an assistant coach with the USA Swimming contingent.
