BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior Ashley Benson has been named to the Preseason All-Big Ten team, announced by the conference office on Thursday. The 14-member squad was voted on by the head coaches.
Benson enters her third year as a Hoosier with several all-time school records to her name already. Her 167 total blocks and 151 block assists last season are each single-season records. In addition, she is also on pace to crush IU's best career marks in those statistical categories as well. Benson has gotten it done on the offensive side of the net as well, evidenced by her .288 career hitting efficiency which ranks second all-time in Indiana lore.
The Bloomington, Ind., native was selected to the 2008 All-Big Ten team as a sophomore.
