BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana football team held its final scrimmage of the 2009 preseason on Saturday. Following the scrimmage, the team invited fans in attendance onto the field for an autograph session.
The team worked on several situations during the scrimmage, with the No. 1 offense facing the No. 1 defense and the No. 2 offense taking on the No. 2 defense. The third-team units also took part in several plays in 7-on-7 drills.
The scrimmage started off with standard drive play, and later in the day the team worked on situational offense and defense. Both squads worked on red zone and goal line scenarios in addition to special teams work, and the scrimmage concluded with both sides working on four-minute and two-minute situations.
The Hoosiers are now 20 practices into the preseason, with nine practices remaining. Indiana will open the 2009 season with their first-ever meeting against Eastern Kentucky at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. It marks the first Thursday game in Memorial Stadium's history and the first of six home games.
