Wyckoff Earns All-American Selection at USA National Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The All-American selections for the 2009 USA Water Polo Women’s National Championship and Women’s 20 and Under National Championship were announced by USA Water Polo and Indiana goalkeeper Cassie Wyckoff was among the honorees.
Wyckoff, entering her sophomore season with the Hoosiers, was named to the First Team Spares for helping Stanford Red capture the 2009 Water Polo National Championship on July 26 in Stockton, Calif. She started the final three games of the tournament, which included a 12-11 overtime victory in the championship game against the New York Athletic Club. The championship game featured a clutch save by Wyckoff late in the contest to help send the game into an extra session.
Wyckoff also received Honorable Mention accolades for her play in the 20 and Under National Championship, as she competed for Stanford White, which finished in 13th place.
Wyckoff started 22 games in goal for the Hoosiers during her freshman campaign. She finished the year with 195 saves, while defending 484 opposing shots.
