BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Hoosier Invitational started on Friday, and IU got off to a great start. The Hoosiers went undefeated in singles action on day one of the tournament, and the doubles pairing of sophomore Jeremy Langer and freshman Isade Juneau proved to be formidable, as the duo advanced through the first two rounds of the bracket.
Langer and sophomore Santiago Gruter both advanced in the IU flight (the top flight). Langer disposed of his first-round opponent 6-1, 6-2. Juneau advanced in the second flight (Hoosier Flight), as did fellow freshman Joshua MacTaggart.
In the Crimson flight, sophomore Will Kendall and freshman Tommy Aliber both advanced to the second round. Second round of singles action kicks off at 11:30 am on Saturday.
Action starts back up tomorrow at 8 am ET and will go on all day, with the last round starting at 6 pm ET. For all things IU tennis, stay tuned to IUHoosiers.com.
