Brush Adds New Duties on Swimming Staff

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University assistant swimming coach Donny Brush will now serve as Assistant Head Coach for Coordination of Training and Student Athlete Development , it was announced today.
"Donny has been a valued member of our staff for over four years now," said head swimming coach Ray Looze. "His new title reflects the duties he has focused on over the past several months in the areas of training and student athlete development. I have been blessed with one of the finest staffs in the Big Ten and NCAA while here at Indiana and this is just another statement of how important every member of our coaches is to the future successes of Indiana swimming."
Brush is entering his fifth season on the Indiana staff where he has mentored Indiana standouts such as Ben Hesen, Todd Patrick, Leila Vaziri and Matt Lenton. In addition to his duties at IU, Brush has coached at the international level as a member of the New Zealand coaching staff at the 2008 World University Games and as an assistant coach for the Ukrainian National Team at the 2005 European Championships.
Prior to coming to Indiana, Brush served as an assistant coach for Longhorn Aquatics in Austin, Texas from 2004-05. Brush, a 2001 graduate of Indiana State, has deep roots in the state of Indiana, serving as head coach of the Terre Haute Torpedoes, Terre Haute Aquatic Club and the Newburgh Sea Creatures. He was also the senior assistant coach for the Carmel Swim Club from 2002-04.
