IUHOOSIERS.com sat down Indiana's Student Development Department to do a Q&A session to get to know the staff. Academic advisor Amanda Fark is next on the list.
Why Did I Choose To Work For IU Athletics?
The level of commitment and dedication exemplified by the staff to the development of student-athletes.
What Do I Like Most About My Job?
The opportunity to have a positive impact on student-athletes on a daily basis, helping them to learn and develop as individuals. Witnessing the variety of successes that student-athletes experience in all aspects of their lives is what I enjoy the most.
Sports Participation?
Played volleyball, basketball, and softball in high school. Played volleyball in college then coached it collegiately for 3 years after graduation. Now my sport participation has been reduced to recreationally playing Cornhole, if you can even consider that a sport.
Free Time Activities?
Love working out, traveling, visiting friends, having new and different experiences.
Last Book I Read/Last Movie I Saw?
Last Book - Lily White by Susan Isaacs
Last Movie - Technically, it was The Goonies, An old fav that was on TV the other day
Favorite Sports Team?
The Cubbies
Best Class I Took In College?
I had a couple of favorites: One was a Geography class where I got to tour Jamaica for a month with a few of my best friends who were also in the class. My other favorite was called Rhythm and Dance which was just like gym class in Elementary school. We got to play around on scooters, juggle, square-dance and (the best part) I learned how to do The Hustle.
Artist That Takes Up Most of My IPOD?
No contest - Tom Petty (with and without The Heartbreakers)
If I Could Live Anywhere, It Would Be?
On a beach, somewhere tropical or at least warm...
My First Job?
I was a Lifeguard at my hometown pool, pulling in a whopping $4.25 an hour...
