We left Bloomington at 3 p.m. on Friday, anxious and ready to start the season! We drove a few hours to Fort Wayne, with some of us watching "The Office" on DVD and others sleeping. After stopping for dinner in Fort Wayne, we got back on the bus to finish the drive to Ann Arbor.
The second half of the bus ride was a bit more exciting, everyone got some food in them and we watched "The Hangover," a personal favorite. (Although I think the back of the bus got annoyed with Kelsey & I quoting everything before it happened.) We got to the hotel a little after 9 p.m. on Friday, and everyone got settled and went to bed shortly after.

We woke up and had breakfast at the hotel this morning, then had some time back in the room until we left for the pool at 8:15 a.m., ready to take on No. 3 UCLA. It was an exciting first half, we were up 2-1 at one point, and the score was 4-2 at halftime, the same as last year! Although we didn't come out on top, we gave them a good fight.
We had time to get some food, and head back to the hotel to eat and get in a quick nap. We had a team meeting amongst ourselves at 2:30 p.m., then one with our coaches at 3 p.m., where we watched some film and went over some things for the next game.
We played No. 6 San Jose State at 5:45 p.m., and had a tough two-goal loss. We left soon after and headed back to the hotel where some people stayed and had pizza, while others went out to eat with family or friends. I went to downtown Ann Arbor with Hanna (Eimstad) and her parents to eat and walk around for a little bit. We got back that evening and headed to bed to get some rest for our game the next morning.

We got to sleep in until 8 a.m. this morning, and headed downstairs to have breakfast. After breakfast we had some time to go back to our rooms and pack everything up. We checked out and headed to the pool at 9:30 a.m., just in time to catch the end of the UCLA vs. Michigan game (UCLA won, 10-7). Our game was at 11:45 a.m. against Colorado State, and we won 13-7. It was a good win and one that we will build on as we continue the season. Everyone changed and got on the bus to head home.
We stopped at Zingerman's Deli on the way home, which had an overwhelming menu, but there were plenty of samples to help the indecisive. It was delicious and very filling! Everyone did homework, slept, or listened to the Colts defeat the Jets on the radio on the way back to Bloomington. The back of the bus participated in a very interesting version of the game "Would you rather..." thanks to Katie Carson's iTouch. We arrived in Bloomington around 9 p.m., and hurried home to beat the traffic from the men's basketball game.
