BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University men's soccer junior midfielder Tyler McCarroll (Carmel, Ind.) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America/ESPN Academic All-District first team, CoSIDA announced Tuesday.

McCarroll is a biology major at Indiana where he maintains a 3.9 GPA. This season he has appeared in nine matches, including victories over No. 10 Michigan State, No. 25 Michigan, No. 11 Creighton, No. 5 UCLA, as well as Indiana's 3-2 win Sunday over Northwestern which clinched the Big Ten regular season title.

McCarroll will now be placed on the national ballot for consideration for the ESPN Academic All-America team. Those honorees will be announced on Nov. 17.
