Hoosiers Bring In Postseason Big Ten Accolades

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior middle blocker Ashley Benson was named to the All-Big Ten team on Tuesday (Nov. 30), her third career selection and second straight unanimous choice. Jordan Haverly and Taylor Wittmer were also recognized by the conference office. Haverly earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention while Wittmer was tabbed as one of 11 Sportsmanship Award honorees.

Benson was one of nine players to be voted to the all-conference team unanimously. She put together one of the most dominant seasons in the league both offensively and defensively. Benson ranks in the top-10 nationally for both hitting efficiency and blocks per set. Here name can be found all over the Big Ten's statistical leaderboards:
2nd with a .413 hitting efficiency (10th nationally)
3rd with 1.38 blocks per set (9th nationally)
3rd with 4.46 points per set
7th with 3.51 kills per set
Haverly was amongst the conference's best as well. Her 4.12 points per set and 33 aces each slot her fifth-best in the Big Ten at the conclusion of the regular season. In total, the Cherry Valley, Ill., native racked up 403 kills, 227 digs and 55 blocks on the year.
Head Coach Sherry Dunbar has now had at least one player earn postseason conference recognition in each of her four season in Bloomington:

Indiana Volleyball has advanced to the NCAA Tournament, and will host first and second round matches on Dec. 3-4 inside University Gym. Indiana (21-11) drew the Miami Hurricanes (23-8) in the first round, a match scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday night inside University Gym.

Day-of, single-session ticket sales are $6 for adults; $5 for students/seniors/youth. All seating is general admission with no reserve seating available. Children two years old and younger receive free admission with a paid adult.
