Curtain Closes on 2010 Fall Season

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - IU Women's Tennis has wrapped up the fall portion of the 2010-11 season, concluding the WMU Super Challenge with a 4-2 final round of singles on Sunday. For the weekend, Indiana posted an overall record of 19-12 (14-8 singles, 5-4 doubles).
The Hoosier trifecta of Leslie Hureau, Myriam Sopel and Evgeniya Vertesheva each went 3-0 on the singles court. Hureau, owner of a 9-0 season mark and 93rd national ranking, dropped just one set in the competition. The WMU Super Challenge marked the '10-`11 single debut for Sopel after battling injuries through the first part of the fall.
Charlotte Martin and Katya Zapadalova were also multiple-time singles victors, each winning two of three contests.
In doubles play, Head Coach Lin Loring had a chance to witness seven different doubles combinations.
Indiana's next competition will take place in Athens, Ga., at a Jan. 14-16 invitational hosted by the University of Georgia.
