THE COACHES
Indiana named Tom Crean as its 28th men's basketball coach on April 2, 2008, and is in his third year with the Hoosiers. He is 215-144 all-time as a head coach, collecting his 200th career win last year against Pitt at Madison Square Garden as part of the Jimmy V Classic. He came to Indiana from Marquette where he was 190-96 (66.4) in nine seasons and made five NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2003 Final Four.
Ben Jacobson is in his fifth season with Northern Iowa's and is coming off a 30-5 season in 2009-10. In his four-plus seasons, Jacobson is 96-46 and has won at least 18 games in each of his first four seasons.
Tad Boyle is in his first season as the Buffalo's head coach after serving as the head coach at Northern Colorado.
Steve Alford is in his fourth season at New Mexico and has compiled a 85-27 record with the Lobos. Overall, this is his 20th season as a college head coach and he has a record of 392-210 with stops at Manchester, Missouri State and Iowa in addition to New Mexico. Alford is the second all-time leading scorer at Indiana, scoring 2,438 points in his career. He was named 1987 Big Ten MVP and a All-American in 1986 and 1987.

The Hoosiers lead the Big Ten and are fourth in the country in field goal percentage (51.3 percent) and second in the league field goal percentage defense (37.7 percent).

IU delivered 24 assists to just eight turnovers. The assists are the most in Tom Crean's Hoosier career. The previous high was 22 against Northwestern State earlier this season. Indiana's eight turnovers were a season low, including just three in the opening 20 minutes.
In the last five games, the Hoosiers have dished out 82 assists and committed just 68 turnovers.
The Hoosiers will not have a four-year player in the program until Verdell Jones III, Tom Pritchard, Matt Roth, Daniel Moore and Kory Barnett enter their senior year.
Junior Verdell Jones III needs 97 points to become the 42nd player in IU history to reach 1,000 points in their career. He has scored 903 career points and has averaged 13.1 points for his career. He is eighth in the Big Ten right now making 54.3 percent of his shots. He is shooting 62.1 percent from the field (18 of 29) in the last five games. Sophomore Christian Watford is seventh in the Big Ten averaging 18.3 points per game after scoring 22 points against South Carolina State. He is fifth in the conference in free throw percentage (85.9) and has made a league-high 61 free throws. He is the only Hoosier to score in double figures every game this season.
Sophomore Jordan Hulls is second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (56.4 percent), and sixth in assist/turnover ratio (2.38). He also is fifth overall in the Big Ten hitting 57.6 percent of his field goal attempts.
Sophomore Derek Elston scored 10 of the Hoosiers first 15 points and finished with 14 points against SIUE and added 10 points and six rebounds versus South Carolina State. He made five of six shots on Sunday versus the Bulldogs.
Junior Matt Roth had his best game of the season with a 14-point effort against South Carolina State. He made four of five three-point field goals in 11 minutes of action.
Led by Roth, the IU bench scored 46 points against South Carolina State.
The Hoosiers last game in the Pacific Time Zone was against UCLA in the second round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament in Sacramento.
