WALLMAN'S THOUGHTS
On bouncing back from a disappointing outing in Puerto Rico:
• "It was not exactly what we wanted. Missing the practice round due to travel issues was definitely a hindrance. We decided to use it as a learning experience and motivation to get things done a little bit better.
"The work ethic has been really good since Puerto Rico. They are working hard and doing what they can do, working within the limitations of the weather."
On the Red Tail Golf Club course:
• "It is a typical Florida golf course. It hosted a men's regional a couple of years ago. There is a lot of water, flat, target areas. I don't think there is anything hidden or that stands out about it. It is going to be a fairly straight-forward golf course. We just have to go play it."
LADY PUERTO RICO RECAP
• The Indiana women's golf team recorded a 321 on the final day of competition for a 14th-place finish at the 54-hole Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
• Alabama won the tournament with a three-round score of 872. Host Purdue was second (883), followed by Oklahoma State (886), Georgia (888) and Kent State (897). The Hoosiers posted a 941 with scores of 304-316-321. Oklahoma State's Caroline Hedwall was the individual medalist with a score of 209.
• "It was one of those days where not much went right," said head coach Clint Wallman. "But that is golf. I thought Jackie (Yanch) had a solid day, but as a whole it was tough out there."
• Senior Laura Nochta tallied an 81 on the final day of competition and finished in a tie for 23rd (72-74-81/227). Freshman Jacqueline Yanch had the low round of the day with a 78, finishing tied for 46th (76-80-78/234). Senior Kellye Belcher tied for 53rd, coming home with an 81 on Tuesday (77-77-81/235). Junior Cecilia Orevik shot an 81 in the final round to place tied for 77th (79-86-81/246). Freshman Kate Coons completed her tournament with an 87 to finish in 83rd (82-85-87/254).
