CHICAGO - For the second time in 2010, Indiana University standout Kevin Alston has been called in to the U.S. Men's National Team training camp. The camp will open up on Feb. 10 in Carson, Calif. and will culminate in a friendly against El Salvador on Feb. 24 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN Classic and TeleFutura beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Fans can also follow the game live via ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and at twitter.com/ussoccer.
Alston participated in the first team camp of 2010 which ran Jan. 4-23, also in Carson, Calif. Alston was hampered by a hamstring injury for much of the camp and did not make an appearance in the 3-1 loss to Honduras on Jan. 23.
Alston is entering his second season with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. As a rookie Alston started all 26 matches played, including all 180 minutes at right back in the two games of the Eastern Conference Semifinal Series against the Chicago Fire.
In his three seasons at Indiana, Alston was a two-time All-Big Ten selection (2007, 2008) and helped lead the Hoosiers to a Big Ten title in 2006 and a regular season Big Ten title in 2007. In 2008 he guided Indiana to an appearance in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament as the Hoosiers advanced to the postseason all three of his seasons in the Cream and Crimson.
