BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana didn't lose a match in their home opener, defeating Tennessee Tech 7-0. The Hoosiers got dominant performances from freshman Josh MacTaggart and Jeremy Langer. MacTaggart didn't drop a single game in his straight-sets victory and Langer dropped only one frame in his two-set win.
After winning all three doubles matches, the Hoosiers wasted no time in singles action, jumping out to early leads in every match. MacTaggart was the first on the board, winning 6-0, 6-0, and Langer was right behind with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Junior Santiago Gruter won in the third match to finish, taking down Tech's number one player Alex Chen by a 6-3, 6-4 tally. Sophomores Maxime Armengaud and Stephen Vogl finished with wins in straight sets as well.
Freshman Isade Juneau provided the day's best theatrics, battling back from a 2-5 deficit in the second set for a 6-1, 7-5 win.
The Hoosiers move to 2-1 on the season and square off with Butler later today. For complete coverage of all things IU tennis, stay tuned to IUHoosiers.com.
