
Hoosiers Compete at NCAA Zone Diving Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Indiana University men's diving team concluded its 2010 collegiate season at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships this past weekend in West Lafayette, Ind.
Freshman Zac Nees was the top performer for the Hoosiers, finishing seventh on the platform (631.20) and 10th in the 3-meter (685.10). Senior David Piercy took eighth in the 1-meter competition (668.75) and ninth in the 3-meter (699.50).
Taking part in his first NCAA Zone competition, freshman Casey Johnson was 12th on the platform (535.85) and 14th in the 1-meter (602.40). Freshman Mick Dell'Orco placed eighth on the platform (610.05) and 17th in the 1-meter springboard (556.40).
Zone C consists of divers from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio, and had the most bids of the five zones across the country on the men's side based on finishes at last year's NCAA Championships.. The zone had an allotment of nine divers to send to the NCAA Championships.
