Kohli Nets Third CWPA Honor of the Season

Sophomore Jakie Köhli has been named the March 22 CWPA Western Division Player of the Week after leading the No. 16 Indiana Hoosiers (13-7) with 10 goals, six assists, 14 steals, and two earned exclusions during a four-game slate throughout northern California.
The award marks the third of the season for Köhli, who was also named March 15 Defensive Player of the Week and February 8 Player of the Week.
Köhli began the week with a two goal, two assist, and four steal performance in a 9-4 win at Sonoma State. She then led the Hoosiers to a thrilling 10-9 overtime victory at No. 17 Pacific, racking up four goals, two assists, and four steals. Köhli scored on a long-range power play goal with 1:39 remaining in the overtime and then nabbed a steal on Pacific's final possession to secure the win for the Hoosiers.
Against No. 7 San Jose State, Köhli served up her 18th multi-goal game of the season with four goals in the 12-9 loss to the Spartans. She also grabbed one steal and earned an exclusion in the contest. Köhli wrapped up the week by dishing out two assists and making five steals in an 8-5 loss to No. 3 California.
Köhli has team-highs of 59 goals and 50 steals during the 2010 season, while also racking up 21 assists and 15 kick-outs earned. Her 59 goals surpass Kristin Stanford's 57 scores (2001) for 10th on the single-season scoring list at Indiana. The single-season scoring record is 77 by Brooke Zimmerman (2008).
