SETTING THE SCENE
• Indiana returns to tournament play with the Mountain View Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
• This is the Hoosiers' fourth-straight trip to Mountain View.
• Indiana won the team title in 2008 and finished fourth in 2009, and third in 2007.
• The Hoosiers are looking to post their first top-10 finish of the spring season and fifth overall this year.

WALLMAN'S THOUGHTS
On what the team accomplished during its spring break trip:
• "It was a great trip. From a team bonding and team chemistry aspect it was good. We did a lot of short game work. It was good just getting out and playing different golf courses in different conditions to sharpen our game. Since it has been a tough winter everywhere, just getting out and playing, having some reps and hitting some balls, working on our short game was the main focus of the trip."
On Indiana's history of success at Mountain View:
• "We love this golf course, everything about it. Historically we have had good tournaments there. The golf course sets up well for us. I know our two seniors are looking forward to going back. They have had fond memories, having won it (in 2008) and always finishing in the top five.
On what they are looking to get out of this weekend with the postseason looming:
• "We are just trying to keep the ball in front of us and keep looking forward. We are not really thinking too much about postseason or hosting regionals. We are trying to put one foot forward and have a really good event this weekend. Our goals are going to be similar to what they have been: hitting 60 percent of our greens, hitting our numbers and trying to limit our damage.
"That is what we have struggled with this year. We have made a lot of birdies and hit a lot of greens in regulation, but then we'll have some big numbers. What I would like to see this weekend is solid golf and get some momentum heading into this last stretch run."
On adding Lauren Giesecke to the travel squad this week:
• "She had a great spring break trip. She has worked very hard on her game and is very close to really breaking out and shooting some good numbers. She was very consistent, which is one of the things I am looking for out of that five spot.
UCF INVITATIONAL RECAP
• Battling mother nature, along with the golf course, the Indiana women's golf team finished 11th at the UCF Challenge at Red Tail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.
• Indiana put up a score of 924 (303-300-321), 31 strokes off the lead. Texas A&M won the tournament with a score of 893, followed by Georgia State (895), Coastal Carolina (904), College of Charleston (905) and Baylor (907) rounding out the top five.
• "We were up against some very windy, inclement conditions today," said head coach Clint Wallman. "Laura had a solid day, given the weather, as did Kellye. Our lack of playing time out on a course really showed today. It is hard to come out and compete when we have had to spent the last few weeks practicing indoors. We will shake it off and get ready for the Mountain View Invitational (March 26-27)."
• Senior Laura Nochta finished with a 3-over 75 on Tuesday to end the tournament tied for 10th with a score of 223 (76-72-75). Nochta was -1 after four holes after opening with pars on seven and eight and adding a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole. She pared 10, but bogeyed three of the next six holes to drop to +2. Nochta rattled off seven-straight pars before ending the day with a bogey on six.
• Senior Kellye Belcher was one of two Hoosiers to record multiple birdies in the round, going one under on the par-4 eighth and 10th holes. Belcher finished tied for 26th with a score of 228 (76-74-78). She was -1 after seven holes but encountered difficulties with a bogey on 14 and a triple bogey on the par-4 16th hole. She finished the round with pars on three of the final six holes.
• It was a rough final day for the three freshman in Florida with Pamela Burneski and Kate Coons shooting 84, and Jacqueline Yanch finishing with an 86.
• Burneski placed tied for 44th with a score of 234 (74-76-84). Burneski was the other Hoosier with a pair of birdies, conquering the par-4 ninth hole and the par-5 12th hole. She was holding strong at +3 through the first eight holes, but a quadruple bogey on hole 16, followed by back-to-back bogeys on 17 and 18, left her at +9 with seven holes to play. Burneski would par five of the final seven, with a bogey on two and a double bogey on six.
• Coons tied for 69th with a score of 242 (80-78-84). Coons had a relatively clean first 11 holes with seven pars, but was troubled by the par-14 16th hole with a triple bogey. No Hoosier golfer managed to hit par on the tricky 16th hole. A bogey on 18 put Coons at +6, and she would bogey three of the next four holes. The par-4 fifth hole resulted in a quadruple bogey, but she ended the day on a positive note with a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole.
• Yanch was never quite able to get into a rhythm on Tuesday, posting an 86 to finish tied for 76th with a score of 245 (77-82-86). Yanch bogeyed four of the first five holes but would hit par on three of the next five. The 16th hole also proved difficult for Yanch as she carded a double bogey. She would bogey 17 and par 18, picking up a pair of bogeys on the next two holes after making the turn. A double bogey on five took her to +11, and she finished with bogeys on five, seven and eight.
DID YOU KNOW?
• Senior Laura Nochta has been the top IU finisher in seven of eight events this year.
• Her top finish to date came at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational where she placed tied for seventh.
• Her low score of the year came at the Challenge at Onion Creek where she shot a 214 (73-70-71) to placed tied for 15th.
