Park Ridge, Illinois - Four members of the Indiana University men's basketball team have been named Academic All-Conference after posting a cumulative GPA above 3.0 in their chosen field of study. Student athletes honored also must be in at least their second year at the institution.
Junior Brett Finkelmeier, who is majoring in Biochemistry and who will attend dental school next year, was named for the second straight year. Joining him this year was senior Tijan Jobe, who is majoring in General Studies, sophomore Kory Barnett, who is studying Sports Communication, and sophomore Daniel Moore, who also is studying Sports Communication.
"These guys have done a tremendous job in the classroom," said IU Coach Tom Crean. "We have an outstanding support staff in the area of academics and they deserve a great deal of credit for their work."
