Spring Action Continues for IU Field Hockey

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team went 2-0-1 on Saturday, April 10, as it continued spring action in the Midwest Spring League Tournament at the University of Louisville.
In the Hoosiers first game of the day, IU tied Miami, 1-1, with a goal from junior Lena Grote. In the second game of the day, IU defeated Ohio, 4-1, with goals from Grote, freshman Shareyna Chang, redshirt freshman Morgan Fleetwood and sophomore Jaclyn Zamudio.
Indiana closed out the day with a 4-2 win over Big Ten foe Michigan State. After taking a 2-0 lead early, the Spartans took advantage of two IU errors to knot the game at 2-2. However, the Hoosiers fought back and netted a pair of goals for the win. Sophomore Corey Brautigam tallied two goals, while Fleetwood and junior Katie Griswold score one goal apiece.
The Hoosiers return to Oxford, Ohio, on Saturday, April 17 for three games against Miami, Michigan State and Michigan, before wrapping up the spring slate with their annual Alumni Game at 12:30 p.m. ET in Bloomington on Sunday, April 18.
