Hoosiers Fall in Close One to No. 20 Louisville

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana fell to No. 20 Louisville on Wednesday in a heartbreaker. The Cardinals came out on top by a score of 4-3. Indiana scored a big win at number one doubles as Lachlan Ferguson and Josh MacTaggart defeated the No. 24 doubles tandem in the nation. Indiana also scored wins at two and five singles and two doubles.
Ferguson and MacTaggart, ranked 48th coming into the match, led from start to finish in their win over No. 24 Simon Childs and Alejandro Calligari. The two Hoosiers pulled out an 8-4 win. Santiago Gruter and Jeremy Langer sealed up the doubles point, winning 8-5 at number two doubles.
Ferguson battled back after a first set loss to Victor Maksimcuk for a 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 10-5 victory at number two. At number five, Maxime Armengaud defeated Andrew Carter in straight sets, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
