BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IU Volleyball program has continued to make an impact off the court and in the community during the spring semester, volunteering for several organizations focused on helping youth in Bloomington and surrounding areas.
Every student-athlete and team staff member has been involved in the program's community service efforts this semester. IU Volleyball has worked extensively with the Boys and Girls Club of Ellettsville, Girls Inc. of Monroe County and People & Animal Learning Services (PALS).
Several of the student-athletes and Head Coach Sherry Dunbar chose to participate in the Boys and Girls Club after-school program, helping the children with schoolwork and coordinating play activities for the kids. Meanwhile, others spent their time at Girls Inc., working towards the organization's mission of "inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold."
Jordan Haverly and Shawn Hindman have been working with PALS, assisting with therapeutic horse-back riding lessons for individuals with disabilities, as well as, taking care of the horses.
