IU in Fifth Place Midway Through Big Tens

MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. - At the midway point of the 2010 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship, Indiana is in fifth place (289-290). Senior captain Alex Martin owns a share of eighth place on the individual leaderboard.

Martin shot back-to-back rounds of even-par 71 for a total of 142, just two strokes back from the top-five.
Sophomores David Erdy and Chase Wright not only followed Martin in the line-up order, but also in individual standings after two rounds. Erdy notched an even-par 71 in the second stanza after carding a 73 in the opening round. The Boonville, Ind., native's two-round total of 144 puts him in a tied for 14th place heading into Saturday's third round. Wright, meanwhile, posted scores of 73 and 72 to slot himself 16th.
Freshman Brant Peaper and Corey Ziedonis each contribute a round to the team score on Friday. Peaper's opening round of 72 made the cut while Ziedonis tallied a 76 in round number two.
For the tournament, Peaper and Ziedonis sit at 33rd (149) and 47th (154) place, respectively.
Tee times are set for 9 a.m. CT Saturday morning. Eighteen holes are scheduled for each Saturday and Sunday to complete the 72-hole conference championship.
