BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On Saturday (Apr. 10), IU Volleyball will compete in the 3rd annual Indianapolis Collegiate Invite, hosted by the Circle City volleyball club at the Capitol Sports Center.
Indiana's playing schedule is: vs. Indianapolis (10 a.m.), vs. Butler (Noon) and vs. Purdue (2 p.m.).
In addition, several members of the program will also be involved with campus activities this weekend. Rising-senior Taylor Wittmer will be a guest Friday night at the annual IU Scholastic Achievement Awards dinner. She earned the Scholastic Achievement Award for the volleyball team this season.
The Scholastic Achievement Award was established in 1979 by the IU Varsity Club to honor and acknowledge the academic excellence of one student-athlete every year in each varsity sport. The award recognizes the athlete that attains the highest cumulative grade point average on his or her respective team.
Meanwhile, All-American Ashley Benson and Head Coach Sherry Dunbar have been selected to throw out the first pitch at IU Softball's game against Michigan State on Sunday, April 11. That contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
