Hoosiers Headed to Europe

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The wait and anticipation ends tomorrow for the IU Volleyball team as departure time is finally here and the Hoosiers will hop on a bus leaving Assembly Hall en route for the O'Hare Airport at around 12:30 p.m.
The Hoosiers will be crossing the Atlantic Ocean and heading to Prague, Czech Republic to begin their 12-day trip to Europe which includes stops in four different countries and six of the continent's finest cities. In addition to loads of sightseeing, the Hoosiers will play seven matches against international competition while in Europe, including a pair of matches versus both the Czech Youth National team and Italian Junior National team.
"A trip to Europe may be a once in a lifetime experience for many of our student-athletes," said Head Coach Sherry Dunbar. "I am so thankful to Indiana University and our administration for giving us the chance to go on this journey. We want to use this experience to play high level competition, tour the unbelievable sites, bond as a program and prepare for the very competitive Big Ten Conference."

May 22 - Sightsee in Prague • match #2 vs. Czech Youth National Team
May 23 - Stop in Vienna, Austria for some sightseeing • arrive in Maribor, Slovenia
May 24 - Sightsee in Maribor • match #3 vs. Nova KBM Branik
May 25 - Sightsee and high ropes course in Maribor • match #4 vs. Nova KBM Branik
May 26 - Arrive in Venice, Italy • full day/night of sightseeing in Venice
May 27 - Arrive in Bologna, Italy • sightsee in Bologna • match #5 vs. IDEA Bologna
May 28 - Arrive in Rome, Italy • sightsee in Rome
May 29 - Sightsee in Rome • match #6 vs. Italian Junior National Team
