Campbell Named First Team Academic All-District

Junior Kelsey Campbell was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 First Team, announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Campbell was named to the Women's At-Large First Team, joining IU senior rower Emily Kasavana on the list. Both names will now be added to the national ballot where they will wait to find out in June if they will be named Academic All-Americans by CoSIDA.
Campbell, a Business and Entrepreneurship major, started in all 32 games for the women's water polo team and helped lead the squad to a 21-11 record, as well as a No. 12 ranking in the final Varsity Top 20 released by the CWPA on May 19.
The Maple Ridge, B.C. native recorded 30 goals, 21 assists, 34 steals, and 18 earned exclusions during the 2010 season. She had seven multi-goal games during the year, including a season-high of three scores in an 8-3 win over Wagner on March 28. She was also named CWPA Western Division Defensive Player of the Week on April 26 after grabbing a career-high eight steals in the Western Championship semifinal win over Mercyhurst. For her career, Campbell has 99 goals, 77 assists, and 94 steals.
