PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Just when the Hoosiers didn't think it could get any better, day three and an entire day of sightseeing in Prague came along...
A scale up the city's observation tower began the day. Most of the travel party rode a tram up Petrin Hill (1,043 feet high), while a few brave souls elected to hike the steep, winding path up the hill to reach the tower. Once the team reached the base of the tower, it was another 200-foot climb to the top of the observation tower, a trek that the tour guide explained was up exactly 299 steps. From atop the observation tower, which is designed to look like a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower, breath-taking views of Prague were aplenty.
Next up was a trip to arguably the Czech Republic's top tourist attraction, the St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle. That part of the city was jam-packed with people, all making their way to the cathedral.
Following the cathedral tour, the travel party split up and went their separate ways for the rest of the afternoon, enjoying some more unique Czech cuisine, culture and shopping.
A festival was being held in the town square, providing live music performances, aroma-infused eating options and loads of shopping choices for all to enjoy.
Everyone will be gathering together once again this evening for dinner at a traditional Czech restaurant before ending the evening with a little time at the local disco club.
The Hoosiers are scheduled to board a bus early Sunday morning en route for Maribor, Slovenia. However, a four-to-five hour pit stop in Vienna, Austria for some more sightseeing will serve as a fun detour.
On Monday (May 24), it's back to work for the Hoosiers as they play their second of six matches on the trip. Indiana will face Nova KBM Branik of Maribor. Tuesday's docket includes a second contest versus Nova KBM Branik, as well as, a high ropes course.
