VENICE, Italy - Day Seven of IU Volleyball's European Tour brought them to their first of three Italian cities, Venice. Following dinner at a local restaurant recommended by the tour guide, the team headed to downtown Venice.
Once there, they had nearly seven hours to explore the city as the travel party split into numerous small groups, each maneuvering their way through the city's labyrinth of streets and rivers. Some took rides on the traditional gondola boats while others enjoyed Venice's shopping and eateries.
Indiana's fourth match of the trip comes Thursday evening in Bologna, Italy. The Hoosiers will face another professional team, IDEA Bologna. The train from Venice to Bologna leaves Thursday morning. Once in Bologna, the Hoosiers will do a few hours of sightseeing before getting back to work in the gym with their match against IDEA Bologna.
