ROME, Italy - The Hoosiers went out with a bang on their 2010 European Tour, sweeping the Italian Junior National team in three sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-22). Indiana put together their best performance of the 12-day trip, blasting the Italians with a .327 (41-14-101) hitting percentage and 12 team blocks.

Ashley Benson was very impressive in the win, racking up 13 kills while hitting .435 and blocking four Italian attacks. Meanwhile, Kelci Marschall was also doing work, gathering 15 put-aways at a .370 pace with eight digs and a block. Caitlin Cox excelled in the service-reception game, pinpointing passes throughout, in addition to, her team-high 12 digs.
The Hoosiers did more than compete on their final day in Rome, however. It all started with a visit to Vatican City before the match. After the victory, Indiana enjoyed their largest meal of the trip, a 20-plus course Italian meal where the tables were "bombarded with food like bombs in the middle of a war," according to the tour guide. He did not lie, as the Hoosiers enjoyed a delicious feast filled with various foods.
Due to extremely slow internet connection in Rome, the photo galleries for Saturday and Sunday will not be posted until Tuesday (the team will be traveling back to American all day Monday).
