BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana assistant men's soccer coach Brian Maisonneuve will serve as an assistant coach with the U.S. Under-20 National Team as it travels to Holland May 14-25, for a pair of friendlies and international tournament.
Maisonneuve will assist head coach Thomas Rongen and will serve alongside assistant coaches Dave Dir and Tim Mulqueen as the U-20s face Senegal and South Korea in friendlies before taking part in the 25th International Cor Groenewegen Tournament.
"It's an honor to work with your National Team," Maisonneuve said. "Anytime you are able to wear the jersey, whether playing or coaching, it is truly a special moment. To work with our countries best U-20 soccer players is wonderful experience. These friendlies against Senegal and Korea, along with the Groenewegen Tournament, should really help with our preparation for World Cup qualifying early next year."
Maisonneuve and the Hoosiers recently completed the spring season, wrapping up the slate with a 2-0 win over the U-20 Mexico National Team on April 27. Indiana opens the 2010 season on Sept. 3 against California in the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic at Armstrong Stadium.
