In addition to getting physically ready through weight-lifting, conditioning and team practice, the Hoosiers are also preparing mentally, socially and academically.
Players and staff will meet with IU's sport psychologist several times in the next 12 days, as well as participating in some yoga activities. The team is also set for a few themed meals such as Italian Night and Gelato Night before departing from the States on May 19. Team-bonding events like scavenger hunts and journal decoration are also on the docket.
On top of each student-athlete reading an assigned motivational book, they have been placed into groups to research the countries, cities and cultures they will encounter in Europe. Their newly-found knowledge will then be put to use as each group gives a presentation on their findings on Sunday, May 16th at the Travel Party Picnic.
The team's final practice is slated for Monday, May 17th. Following an off day on Tuesday, the Hoosiers are then set to cross the Atlantic Ocean on May 19th and begin their international adventure.
