Hoosiers Close Out Weekend Well

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis closed out the opening weekend of the fall season on Sunday at the Indiana Invitational and the Duke Fab 4 Invitational. Freshman Dimitrije Tasic took second place in the top flight at the Indiana Invitational and Jeremy Langer and Isade Juneau each finished seventh at the Duke Fab 4 Invitational.
Tasic fell after in three sets to Yannick Goossens of Cleveland State in the final. Tasic took the battled back from a first set loss to take the second set 6-3. He eventually fell in the third for a final tally of 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. The loss was one of only two between five Hoosier singles players and two doubles tandems on the final day of the Indiana Invitational.
Juneau defeated Louisville's Alejandro Calligari in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) for seventh place, adding a solid victory to a weekend that saw him also knock off Dominic Hodgson of NC State, who is ranked No. 98 by the ITA. Langer took down Radford's Thomas DeHean in two tightly-contested heats. After taking a tie-breaker in the first set 7-6 (4), Langer took the second set 7-5.
Will Kendall and Stephen Vogl each took third-place finishes at the Indiana Invitational. Kendall was up 6-0, 3-0 before Aleks Elezovic of Toledo injury defaulted. Vogl defeated Chris Cheung of Detroit-Mercy in straight sets (7-5, 6-2).
