Paint U-Gym Red This Weekend for IU Volleyball

The Indiana University volleyball team (8-10, 0-6) return home for the weekend to host a pair of nationally-ranked opponents in Ohio State and Penn State. The Hoosiers and Buckeyes square off at 7 p.m. on Friday, and the Nittany Lions battle the Hoosiers at 7 p.m. on Saturday, with both matches at University Gymnasium. Fans are encouraged to "Paint U-Gym Red" this weekend to help the Hoosiers to victory. For the Ohio State match, the first 150 students to arrive will receive free pizza and the first 200 fans to arrive will receive a free Big Ten bag.
The Ohio State match will be streamed live on BTN.com and a live audio broadcast of the Penn State match will be available at IUHoosiers.com. The Voice of IU Volleyball, Cody Sharrett, will have the call on both broadcasts, and he'll be joined by color commentator Eric Robberts. SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The Buckeyes enter the weekend ranked 24th in the AVCA Coaches Poll. They rank fourth nationally in kills per set with 14.75 and they are sixth nationally in assists per set. Emily Danks is one of two players the Hoosiers will see this weekend who are among the nation's best servers. Danks averages 0.57 aces per set, which is sixth best in the nation this season.
Penn State is led by Micha Hancock, who leads the nation in aces per set. The setter averages 0.82 aces per set this season. Katie Slay's 1.39 blocks per set is 18th best nationally, and her hitting percentage of .397 is 15th in Division I as well. The Nittany Lions are ranked ninth nationally by the AVCA and they rank among the nation's top 25 in both aces per set and blocks per set.
