PSU, OSU, BTN on Tap for Volleyball This Weekend

The Indiana University volleyball team (9-19, 1-15) visits No. 12 Penn State and No. 25 Ohio State this weekend. IU plays Penn State (19-7, 12-4) at 7 pm ET on Friday, and the Buckeyes (17-12, 7-9) host IU on Sunday at Noon ET. The Hoosiers look to build on a win in their last outing, 3-2 over Iowa. IU fell to both teams in Bloomington earlier this season.
IUHoosiers.com will have live audio of both matches, with the "Voice of IU Volleyball", Cody Sharrett, and sports information director Kyle Johnson on the call. The Penn State match will be available live at BTN.com, and the Ohio State match will be broadcast by Big Ten Network via tape delay on Sunday night at 10 p.m. ET. Randy Rhinehart and Audrey Flaugh will have the call for Big Ten Network.
HOOSIERS ON THE UPSWING
In the month of November, Indiana's playing much better statistically. The Hoosiers are averaging 13.07 kills per set, up from the season average of 11.90, and assists (12.27/11.06), digs (14.87/13.01) and hitting percentage (.179/.168) are up as well.
In November, Kelci Marschall is averaging 4.27 kills per set, up from her season average of 3.10, Samantha Thrower is hitting .319 and averaging 1.07 blocks per set, up from season averages of .270 and 0.84, and Morgan Leach is hitting .386 with 2.33 kills per set, up from .253 and 1.95.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Penn State leads the Big Ten in service aces per set with 1.72 per set. Micha Hancock leads the Big Ten 0.82 aces per set. The Nittany Lions are led by Katie Slay, who is hitting .385 on the season (2nd in the Big Ten) and Deja McClendon, who averages 3.59 kills per set.
Ohio State leads the Big Ten in kills (14.39) and assists (13.45) per set this season. Mari Hole leads the way, averaging 3.99 kills per set. Kelli Barhorst is hitting .309 this season for the Buckeyes.
