BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior forward Carly Samp (Barrington, Ill.) received a pair of honors since the season has been over for the Hoosiers. She was named the teams Big Ten Sportsmanship nominee by the conference office earlier this week and then garnered Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors on Friday (Nov. 4).
In order to be nominated for the Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.30 cumulative GPA and be in at least their second academic year at the school they play for. Samp is working towards a degree in sport marketing and management at Indiana.
Samp finished her career at Indiana with 18 career goals to put her in a tie for sixth place on the all-time list at IU. Her 13 career assists rank seventh in school history and her 49 career points are the fifth-most in program history.
