Campillo Earns European Tour Card

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Former Indiana standout Jorge Campillo tied for sixth at the European Challenge Tour's Grand Final in Puglia, Italy last week, earning a European Tour card for the 2012 season.

Campillo finished ninth in the Challenge Tour rankings, with the top-20 players gaining their card. Campillo's strong finish to the season helped move him into the top-10 on that list, which virtually assures him of qualifying for the majority of the events on the European Tour next season.

The Caceres, Spain native competed in 22 Challenge Tour events during the 2011 season, as well as five on the European Tour, finishing in the top-25 on ten occasions.

Campillo was a two-time All-American during his career in Bloomington. His Hoosier career included a second place finish at the 2008 NCAA Tournament, a Big Ten championship, two Big Ten Player of the Year awards, and the 2008 Indiana Male Athlete of the Year.
