BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University Athletics ranks No. 19 in the fall Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, tied with Wake Forest and Old Dominion with 133 points.
"Being ranked in the nation's top 20 in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings is testament to the hard work and dedication of our outstanding coaches and student-athletes," said Fred Glass, IU Vice President and Director of Athletics.
The Hoosiers' current ranking is due to Indiana's men's cross country team finishing seventh at the NCAA Championships, earning 69 points, and men's soccer finishing ninth overall for 64 points.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - ten women's and ten men's.
The next fall Division I standings will be release Thursday, Dec. 22.
