| Meet Information
The 2012 season for Indiana Track and Field begins on Fri., Dec. 9, when the IU hosts the first meet of the indoor season, the Hoosier Open. The meet begins at 6 p.m. ET. The Hoosiers will host seven indoor meets this season at Gladstein Fieldhouse.
The meet will feature some historical events related to the indoor season (i.e. the 55m and 55m hurdles, the 300m, the 500m and the 1,000m), giving Hoosiers the chance to measure up with legends from the past. The highlight of the meet could turn out to be the 5,000m, where several runners will look to get under the NCAA Automatic Qualifying Standard.
Indiana returns 13 athletes who have earned All-America honors in their careers. The men's team returns 94.5 of the 104.5 points it scored to finish second at the Big Ten Indoor meet in 2011 and all 27 points it scored for 6th at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The women's team returns 2011 All-Americans Kelsie Ahbe and Monique Riddick, both of whom posted Big Ten runner-up finishes a year ago to IU teammates in addition to earning All-America laurels.
